1670 Bottled Inks 50ml, Assorted Colors, J. Herbin

The 1670 Collection celebrates the rich life and adventures of Herbin, an enterprising French sailor of the mid-17th century. While he was in the employ of the Compagnie des Indes Orientales, he made a number of voyages to India, collecting ingredients and formulas for his sealing wax and inks.

The 1670 inks come in 50ml glass bottles with hand-dipped wax seal cap. These inks are illuminated with shimmering flecks for an elegant finish. They are all suitable for fountain pen use, though the shimmer particles may require additional cleaning of your pen between inks.

  • Emerald of Chivor: Herbin is said to have kept an emerald in his pocket during his voyages as a good luck charm. This ink is an elegant emerald green ink with flecks of gold.
  • Stormy Grey: Stormy seas are the inspiration for this ink. Its color is a deep coal with flecks of gold. The fine golden flecks in the ink are meant to invoke both strikes of lightening across the water, and also its dark and mysterious depths.
