Tuesday, September 17 is National Voter Registration Day and we want to encourage everyone to be ready to vote in November! Here are the key steps to take:
- Check your voter registration status. You can do that at the non-partisan website Vote.org.
- Register to vote if you haven’t done so already. Vote.org can connect you to the right resource in your state.
- And make your plan to vote! Whether you plan to vote early by mail using an absentee ballot, vote early at your assigned voting precinct, or to vote in person at your precinct on Tuesday, November 5, the most important thing is to let your voice be heard. Every vote counts!
We also would love to see you at the store for three consecutive Tuesday evenings (September 17, September 24, and October 1) to help us get out the vote! We are partnering with Postcards From Alexandria to write out postcards to encourage voter registration and participation in Virginia. We will gather from 6:00 - 7:30 pm and all of the materials needed—postcards, pens and stamps—will be on hand. All we’ll need to complete the mission will be your hand-written touch!
Plus, if you pop into our shop any time between now and the election, you’ll receive our super cute Penny Post-exclusive Voting is Coo sticker as a gift with purchase! The front is, of course, super “coo” and the back offers a handy guide to making a voting plan.
While you are in the store, you can also add your voice to our “I am a voter because…” wall and share some of the reasons why taking part in our democracy is important to you!
And, in the coming weeks we will be reviving a Penny Post-exclusive, limited edition, Idlewild Co.-designed, vote-tastic enamel pin which we will give away with any purchase of $50 or more during the weekend of October 11-13. Trust us, you will want in on this fun piece!
We believe that every vote matters and every voice should be heard. We hope you agree!
