Author bio: Emily Paluska is a Korean American botanical artist based in Washington DC. She started making flowers as a way to cope with postpartum depression—making one flower a day for a year, falling more in love with paper flower-making as the days passed. She is passionate about showing others how they too can use art as a way to connect and heal. Emily has taught hundreds of students how to make their own paper flowers. She has worked with the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, HGTV Mag, Veranda, as well as many other companies and organizations. You can most likely find her under a pile of paper in her Capitol Hill studio painting flower petals late into the night.
