Our favorite day of the year is almost here! August 1 is Stationery Store Day, a celebration of stationery shops around the world, and we can't wait to celebrate with you.
As in years past, we'll have our epic swag bags for the first 100 guests who spend $50 or more. Thanks to our amazing vendor partners, these bags are packed with incredible goodies, so be sure to arrive early if you'd like to snag one!
And can we talk about this year's poster? Adorable! The talented Karen Schipper—illustrator extraordinaire—is the artist behind this year's Stationery Store Day artwork and merchandise, and we're completely smitten.
Planning Your Visit
To keep everyone's shopping experience comfortable and enjoyable, we'll once again be limiting the number of customers inside the shop at one time.
While you're waiting outside, we'll have:
- Complimentary cold beverages
- A few snacks to enjoy
- Penny Post paper fans (naturally!)
- Two shade tents and some seating
- Photo ops with our oversized pencil prop
If you have your own shade (perhaps a duck umbrella?), we recommend bringing it along just in case. And if you need a break from the heat, our friends at Miss Moxie's will be opening early.
As always, many enthusiastic paper lovers start lining up well before our 10:00 a.m. opening. To make the wait more comfortable, the first 100 people in line before 10:00 a.m. will receive a numbered token that serves as your place in line. This allows you to seek shade or stretch your legs without losing your spot.
Please note: The token does not guarantee a swag bag—it simply holds your place in line. We recommend returning before doors open so you can reclaim your position. Our team will be working as quickly as possible to get everyone inside and shopping in the cool comfort of the store.
Swag, Swag, and More Swag
Everyone's favorite part of Stationery Store Day is back!
- First 100 customers who spend $50 or more receive one of our coveted swag bags (while supplies last).
- New this year: Customers who spend $175 or more will also receive a Pilot fountain pen and cartridges.
These gifts are available in-store only and while supplies last. Last year, the swag bags were gone by around noon, so arriving early is your best bet.
And yes—if you spend $175 or more before the swag bags are gone, you'll receive both the $50+ swag bag and the Pilot fountain pen gift!
